Tyler M. Mulkey, DPM FACFAS

Dr. Tyler Mulkey is proud to serve the Southeast Texas community as part of Golden Triangle Foot & Ankle Specialists. He is committed to building lasting relationships with his patients and believes that exceptional foot and ankle care begins with listening, education, and personalized treatment plan tailored to each individual’s goals and lifestyle.

Originally from Nebraska, Dr. Mulkey earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, before pursuing his medical education at Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago, Illinois. He completed a rigorous 3-year reconstructive rear foot and ankle (RRA) surgical residency in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where he received advanced training in foot and ankle trauma, reconstruction, limb salvage/preservation and complex foot and ankle deformity correction.

Dr. Mulkey has a special interest in helping patients with challenging conditions, including severe deformities, diabetic complications, injuries, and cases where limb preservation is critical. He works closely with patients, primary care physicians, and hospital teams to provide thoughtful surgical and non surgical solutions aimed at restoring stability, function, and quality of life. His approach focuses not only on fixing the problem, but on helping patients regain independence and return to the activities that matter the most to them.

After residency, Dr. Mulkey practiced in northern Iowa for 4-1/2 years, caring for patients across a wide spectrum of needs-from routine footcare to complex surgical reconstruction. His approach has always centered on clear communication, thoughtful decision making, and helping patients return to the activities they enjoy.

Dr. Mulkey is board-certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) and is also board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM). He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, reflecting his dedication to continued learning and excellence in patient care.

Dr. Mulkey and his wife, who is originally from Lake Charles, Louisiana, are grateful to be back in the Gulf Coast region and closer to family. They have one son who keeps them busy and entertained. Outside of medicine, Dr. Mulkey enjoys spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, as well as playing golf.

He looks forward to caring for you and your family and helping you stay active and healthy for years to come.
